Corrected; not cured: Myopia is a refractive error that is corrected by the use of glasses, contact lenses, laser refractive surgery, phakic Intraocular lenses, & surgical clear lens exchang.e In some cases an individual may tolerate mild myopia without correction. To date, myopia is not curable. Genetically, myopia is predetermined & generally stabilizes in mid twenties. Exceptions apply infrequently.
