Calluses/corns: When there are deformities of your toes, or if you have an unstable foot-type (ie: flat foot), the you may develop corns/calluses (areas of hardened skin around the toes or other parts of the foot secondary to mechanical abnormailites and boney prominences). With time, the skin thickens to the point where it can compress the nerves. This is likely to cause numbness.
