A member asked:

I've had a sinus infection for two weeks now, and just got a prescription today. are the odds pretty low to get meningitis? idk if i'm vaccinated.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: It is relatively common for a sinus infection to be ongoing for 2 wks prior to treatment and rare for it to convert to meningitis. Most meningitis is aggressive and will progress over a period of hours from first symptoms to full blown disease.
