A member asked:

My 4 mth old son had a vp shunt put in 3 wks ago. the incision is good, acting fine, but a lg amount of fluid under his skin by the shunt. normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Increasing fluid: accumulating under the skin since the shunt was placed is not expected. If it is decreasing with time then it should be OK. If not, please have the surgeon check the shunt.
