Just moved from daughter's house to nursing home. i like it but was put in double due to lack of spaces on short notice. is that a good sign or bad?

Should be fine: Just make sure your roommate doesn't have anything contagious (ask the staff). If you want a private room, let the staff know and they'll let you know when one will be available and how you can be accommodated. Unfortunately, most nursing homes are usually full.
