Scans are reviewed: There are many different types of holter monitoring systems, but typically a computer does the initial report and then a technician ensures that the computer software accurate is capturing and reporting the data. Then a physician will review the final report and issue the summary and conclusions.

Any doctor: Primary care doctors often order a holter monitor (which records heart rhythm for 24 - 48 hours) to evaluate palpitations and they are interpreted most often by internists and cardiologists. It is very helpful for the wearer to mark the moment they are experiencing symptoms by depressing a button on the device. This allows the physician to correlate the rhythm at the moment of the symptoms.

Holter monitor: It depends on the patient's symptoms and the frequency that they occur. Holter monitors are useful for picking up arrhythmias that occur on a frequent, usually daily basis since the monitor is in place for 24-48 hours. Arrhythmias that occur less frequently are better detected with a 30 day ambulatory event monitor.

Holter monitor: There are several small holter monitors and event recorders on the market. One of the simplest is the size of a large band aid and records for two weeks. It is then removed and mailed in to be analyzed. There are none presently on the market that connect to cell phones though this technology is coming.
