Yes !: Steroids either for fetal lung maturation or for asthma in pregnant women are very safe as long as supervised by a physician. Magnesium sulfate has a good safety track . The maternal blood levels need to be monitored. Occasionally , newborns may show some lethargy when exposed during labor. The baby's pediatrician will be informed and precautions taken at birth.
