23yo female worried about tumor what age are they most common what are the odds of someone my age having one?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rare at 23: Most cancers that are not inherited, and that represents about 90% of the population who develop cancer as an acquired event. That is exposure to viruses that are oncogenic or carcinogens. However one hit does not induce transformation but requires at least 3 or more hits which takes time. Therefore the older the individual the more likelihood of coming down with a malignant process.
