A member asked:

Is there any chromosome test that can be taken to find the cause of molar pregnancy? to prevent another molar?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No cause: Apart from a few rare genetic syndromes, molar pregnancies "just happen." The two major types have two different chromosome types. Nothing you did and almost certainly nothing you inherited caused this disappointing outcome. Recurrences are rare. You can almost certainly have a healthy baby.
