Son is 50/50 breast/formula fed.been taking xanax (alprazolam) 0.75 daily for just over a month.i wait 4 hours to bf again.he doesn't seem affected. is this okay?

Not Okay: Taking just 1 tablet of Xanax (alprazolam) occasionally which means once a month or so is Okay. But, taking it daily is not good. It takes much longer than 4 hours for your breast milk to be clear of the medication. More like 14 to 18 hours. So, waiting for 4 hours to breast feed is not good enough. It is best to switch to a different medication or just to bottle feed if you must take Xanax (alprazolam),
