Time: Plaquenil is an excellent drug for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of lupus but it takes time to have an effect. Drugs like ibuprofen and Tylenol (acetaminophen) often have noticeable effects within hours whereas Plaquenil may take weeks to months. The advantages of Plaquenil are safety and overall disease control. Stay with it.
