Sounds normal: These velocities sound normal. As your carotids narrow, the velocity of blood increases. Sort of like when you put your thumb over the end of a hose. The water moves faster and goes farther. In many labs, the cutoff is 125cm/s. Below this, there may be some narrowing, stenosis, but it is not significant. Discuss the results with your doctor.
