A member asked:

During a concert i wasvery excited. my heart was beating very fast and erratically at times for at least 15 minutes.can i have damaged heart and brain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not usually: It is possible to have an irregular heartbeat due to excitement but this is "normal" under those circumstances. There is no permanent damage. Note that when you exercise vigorously your heart is also beating very fast ( possibly up to about 200 BPM at your age) and hard. Such elevation of heart rate is generally considered to be part and parcel of a healthy exercise program.
