Office procedure: Determining if a good candidate. Administering topical anesthesia. Placing a mirror lens on the eye using a coupling agent. Firing laser into the drain of the eye (no pain) while at the slit lamp. Patient holds still while looking straight ahead. Washing out the eye and rechecking the pressure afterward completion.

Laser: Step 1-- eye drops in the eye; step 2-- numbing drops; step 3-- sit down in front of laser and adjust head to fit machine; step 4-- doctor will check focus of machine; step 5-- doc will put small contact lens on eye to focus laser; step 6-- laser is performed for a few minutes (no pain); step 7-- more eyedrops; step 8-- check eye pressure in 30 minutes; step 9-- go home.
