A member asked:

Do very young grandparents do well or do they try to take over?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

NEEDS communication: Having very young grandparents usually means very young parents are doing the important job of 'parenting'. If the grandparents observe a lapse in parenting then expect them to try to 'step in' and take over. Ideally the grandparents should ask: 'would you like advice about ...' and the parents can respond with 'yes, what would you do..' thus supporting the parents but not taking over.
