Sleep consolidation: achieved between 1-4 mos. prevents behavioral sleep problems at 6 mos. & older. If he's gaining 2/3 o.-1 oz./ day, put him on his back in his crib in his own room, drowsy, but awake, to self-calm for sleep. It's not too early to set a bedtime, read, rock or cuddle in low light & wipe out his mouth with a soft cloth after his last feed, good habits to establish before 5 mos. when teeth erupt.
