A 41-year-old female asked:

-1.75 and -1.5. I wear glasses 5 years tv but hate them. Optician recommends them for computer and concentrated tasks too. Essential or not?

Optical aid: Glasses are not a medical item. You need only wear them when you need clarity of vision for a given task. There is no harm to not wearing them; you will just not see as well in those cases. When in doubt, always check with your ophthalmologist - the fully trained eye doctor.
