Could be...: It could be nerve irritation or bone inflammation which could be triggered by over use, not necessarily strenuous exercise. You just need to use it in any type of activity repetitively in order to develop symptoms. Try to ice the area(15 minutes 3 times a day) and if possible rest for a couple of days while the inflammation goes down. If very severe see your doctor for formal exam.
