Meds and supplements: You should supplement with vitamin D on a daily basis. There are also medications that can help your bones retake the calcium lost but for that you would need to talk to your doctor to prescribe those if he/she understands is necessary in your case. A balanced diet recommended by a nutritionist is also my recommendation. Follow up closely with your doctor if still anorexia symptoms.

Yes, take Calcium: Osteopenia is a weakening of the bone due to a decrease in bone mineral density. It is a common consequence of anorexia nervosa. Without treatment there is a high risk of developing osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a leading cause of disability and death in older women. Taking calcium with Vit D can be helpful for preventing further loss. There are medications can restore bone density.

Low bone density: Osteopenia refers to a condition of decreased bone density. Among the causes are estrogen deficiency, weight loss, poor diet, some medications. Untreated, it may progress to osteoporosis, a more severe form of thinning bone that increases fracture risk. Drugs are available to increase bone density, but treating anorexia would be the first step to improve bone health.

Osteopenia: Hi. Osteopenia is an intermediate between normal bone density and osteoporosis. Your risk factors were poor nutrition along with prolonged amenorrhea from the anorexia. Assuming your totally past the anorexia, cycling normally, and well nourished, all you can do for now is assure adequate calcium and vitamin D intake. After menopause, there are many drugs approved to prevent and treat osteoporosis
