A member asked:

Are kids with their own chip insurance policies having trouble getting regular insurance later?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No difference: Chip functions a lot like medicaid for kids, and should not affect a child's eligibility for other health insurance later in life. Bigger issue for future insurablilty is exclusion for "pre-existing conditions, " something which president obama's health care plan addressed and will be fixed for all by 2014 if the health care bill is not overturned.
