Adrenal insuff: Given the low sodium, the constellation of symptoms may be caused by adrenal insufficiency due to sudden withdrawal of corticosteroids. Consultation with an internist or sub-specialist is recommended. Effective treatment is available. Opiate withdrawal may also cause the described symptoms but should not last for two months and not associated with low sodium.
