Be patient: 85% of couples will conceive within 1 year of trying. Some are in the first month and some are in the 11 month. Working on your health overall(eating well, taking prenatal vitamins), monitoring periods and signs of ovulation like a change in cervical mucous 2 weeks before your period can be helpful in timing when to have sex. Best of luck

Time/See a doctor: There are a wide variety of reasons why couples are not able to conceive. Generally, we recommend seeing a doctor if you have not been able to conceive after a year of trying. If it has been more than a year, I recommend scheduling an appointment (first with a primary care doctor) for a more thorough evaluation to determine if there is an issue with you or your partner.

Trying for how long?: It it's been a year, get a thorough history and physical and appropriate lab work and imaging by your primary care doc to see if there is any cause for the problem. Then follow recommendations which may include seeing a doctor specializing in fertility medicine. Good luck! Remember with kids, you get less presents for Xmas! One of the down sides, totally!
