A member asked:

Also, can the stitvhes on my toe be taken out in 2 days?

Usually: allowed to stay a little longer than 5 days so that the wound has approxomated. Early removal may lead to wound dehiscence

Doubtfull: The foot doesn't heal that quickly. When did the doctor direct you to return for suture removal.

Probably not.: Follow the instructions you were given when the stitches were put in as they usually tell you when they should come out.

Usually not: Unless there is presence of infection, sutures in the toes typically need longer than 2 days before they can be removed. Sometimes they need up to 10-14 days before the incision is strong enough to allow removal
