Yes and no: You should be worried if there is any chance that this might have been a sexually transmitted infectious disease. If this is excluded, looking back and trying to understand the conditions that favored its appearance may help plan ahead and avoid the next episode.

See a doctor: You may need to get this checked. If you have anal sex or herpes exposure or HPV it could be a sexually transmitted disease. Otherwise it may simply be an abscess. It is better to be safe than sorry.
