Not likely: Could have injured a disc, but at your age, you more likely strained a muscle or ligament. A good history & phys. incl osteopathic hands-on exam may provide some answers and lead to appropriate treatment, if you're worried or if pain does not resolve in a few days with symptomatic treatment like heat/ice and analgesic medication.

NO: Doubt ANYTHING you mention in your question suggests that you could become "quadriplegic"...Pain in the back which DOES NOT RADIATE (spread) to your legs/buttocks is usually due to simple muscle strain/sprain......hope this helps! Dr Z

Doubtful&Doubtful: You probably strained your back muscles. Rest, use heat to the area, take some anti-inflammatory medication and call your Dr. for an exam. A slipped disc would be possible, but unlikely and becoming a quadriplegic from a day of heavy lifting is Extremely unlikely. Relax, decrease your stress level too. Best wishes.
