Infection with GERD: Sounds like you had an infection, possibly a virus if getting better, that also affected some acid indigestion and the reflux into you esophagus may be causing your rotten smelling belches. This should get better over time as well if this is the case...if not, than see the Doctor for an exam, best wishes.
