Asymmetry is normal: Sounds like you may be describing a varicose vein in your popliteal fossa. Varicosities are not going to be symmetric the vast majority of the time. Keep an eye on it. If it grows, becomes hard, or becomes painful tell your doc because you may need further evaluation & possible treatment.
