Sometimes: If you and your family agrees that you do not want to live in you current state and your medical condition is considered terminal and you meet other criteria you can be a deceased organ donor. If you are "brain dead" you are legally dead. If you are not brain dead you can still donate if you family agrees to a donation after cardiac death. Then you are taken off support...
