Muscular dystrophies: are a group of neuromuscular disorders. Rapidly progressive muscle weakness & wasting in Duchenne Type begin in early childhood, with difficulty sitting, standing & walking; in Becker Type, slow progression may begin in late childhood -early adulthood. Each family needs genetic studies & support. See mda.org & educationhttp://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/duchenne-and-becker-muscular-dystrophy.
