A member asked:

What is the normal composition of blood in children and adults?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Plasma and cells.: Red blood cells contain iron, levels go up as children get older, though highest in newborns, dropping rapidly after birth. There are white blood cells that fight infections, and platelets that are needed for blood clotting. The liquid, called plasma, carries many factors that are also needed for clotting, plus antibodies which fight infections.. Almost the same for children and adults.
