Radiation Treatment: In general there are 3 ways we treat cancer. Surgeons operate and remove cancerous tissue. Medical oncologist give systemic therapy (chemotherapy, medication, hormones, etc..) and radiation oncologists are physicians that use ionizing radiation therapy to treat cancers. Cancer patients will often get at least one if not all 3 forms of treatment depending on the type of cancer they have.
