My mother said that the oncologist is planning on using radiation to ease her pain. what does radiation do?

It kills cancer: It kills cancer cells locally ornpause growth locally, sometimes temporarily but permanently sometimes, therefore you get pain relief. All depends on what type of cancer, some respond but others do not respond to raiation.
