MRI vs CT: MRI creates images from manipulation of strong magnetic fields, CT uses ionizing radiation just like xrays. CT is much faster and allows for a large survey of parts of the body. MRI is more suitable for evaluating more specific tissues (heart, brain, joints) Each has their own advantages & disadvantages and largely depend on what is being assessed. Always confer with a radiologist!
