Demyelinating Dx: Demyelinating disease causes weakness and sensory loss. Myelin insulates the nerves of the central and peripheral nervous system. Illnesses that cause damage to myelin are called demyelinating diseases. Examples are multiple sclerosis and CIDP or chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy.
