A member asked:

What could an automated external defibrillator do if the pads where placed on either side of the brain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

AED: Don't think about doing electroshock therapy for a depressed friend this way. The AED is designed to pick up ecg signals across the chest and probably wouldn't pick much up placed across the skull. Without adequate signal it wouldn't recommend shock but might recommend repositioning the electrodes while keeping up external compressions. It isn't designed for doing anything wih electrodes on head
