Tx will vary: If recent, pumping the stomach or with certain medications. Also treating symptoms occurring as a result of the overdose (iv fluids, medications to control an irregular heart rhythm or seizures, breathing tube to help breathing, closely monitor heart and lungs). If an overdose occurs, intentional or accidental, call your doctor or 911. May also contact the poison control center 1-800-222-1222.

Blood test: Wellbutrin (bupropion) will show up on special blood tests which look specifically for wellbutrin (bupropion). This testing will show the amount of wellbutrin (bupropion) in your system, so doctors will be able to tell if it’s consistent with normal prescription use or is at a harmful level.

Because it is activating it is useful for patients with lethargic depression. Bupropion is not associated with weight gain or sexual problems.
