Depends: Depends on source/cause of pain.Strongest narcotic regularly used is probably Fentanyl.Oxycodone & combinations of it like Percodan/Percocet are quite strong but even these aren't as good as simple ibuprofen for some types of pain that are inflammatory.Also, some people just respond better to one med than another.Talk w/your dr. if you need pain relief.
