After gastric bypass: This is also known as an internal hernia, and occurs after surgery on the stomach, typically a gastric bypass. It occurs in the space between the colon, and the small intestine, and can cause severe pain due to blockage of the blood supply of the small intestine which can twist when herniated through the space. Hope this helps!
