Nicotine Dependence?: Nicotine Replacement products (NRTs) are useful in proportion to your nicotine dependence.
If you smoke within 1 hour of waking up, you are nicotine dependent and NRTs are generally needed along with anti-depressants & behavioral therapy.
If you can make it to dinner time without a smoke, can skip a day, or binge smoke, you do not need NRTs and should focus on behavioral therapy.
