Sclerosing agents.: There are several solutions that can be used for sclerotherapy but the two common ones are polidocanol and sodium tetradecyl. Both of these are FDA approved and both can be used as either a liquid or a foam solution. Other solutions such as hypertonic saline, glycerine, iodine and sodium morrhuate can also be used but they are not commonly used any more.
