Myofascial pain: The pain is most likely caused by old injury and trigger points (knots in muscles). Medicine does not get pain better, it just helps you ignore it. Lumbar nerve inj. as from disc herniation. There are many more.A good history & phys. incl osteopathic hands-on exam may provide a definitive answer.Other tests may also be necessary like doppler ultrasound or EMG/NCV.
