Not all the same: Cancer is a general term used to describe the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells caused by gene mutation. The cause of a gene mutation that lead to a particular cancer is variable depending on location and type, and usually not completely understood. Potential causes include hereditary, environmental exposure (ie tobacco, alcohol, diet), after infection(hpv or hepatitis b), stress.
