Derivation: sarcomas arise from supportive tissues of the body. They are found in and derived from muscle, fibrous tissue and fascia, fat, nerve, blood vessel and bone. Spread is to liver and lung. Carcinomas arise from secretory and epithelial membrane spreading first to regional nodes as seen with breast, colon and lung. They respond differently to chemo.
