A member asked:

What are the differences between a combination pill and ru 486?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Opposite effects...: Combination Oral contraceptive pills contain Estrogen and Progesterone. These are synthetic versions of hormones that also occur naturally in a woman's body. They prevent conception mostly by preventing ovulation. RU-486 is an ANTI-progesterone. It prevents progesterone from supporting the uterine lining and pregnancy and this results in a miscarriage. Best wishes!
