From a dental perspective vomiting damages the teeth. A novel idea involves the use of clear retainers and a protective baking soda ‘retainer gel’ to physically and chemically shield the teeth from stomach acid. This may be combined with therapy to help reduce the occurrence and should provide superior protection over traditional dental suggestion of rinsing after vomiting.
