What is the treatment for luvox (fluvoxamine) overdose?

Depends on dose/age: Depending on the dose/age and physical status inpatient treatment may be necessary. Infants, children and elderly may need immediate medical care. Inpatient for someone who has made a serious suicide attempt by overdose. Life support may be necessary when there is respiratory distress, cardiac failure, coma - often seen when there are other drugs/alcohol involved as well.

Depends: "Overdose," suggests that you don't mean that you simply took an extra 50 mg one time, or something like that. Rather, around 500 mg or higher, and less, for a child, with delirium or impairment in consciousness -- or something that MIGHT be in that ballpark. In that case, it is life threatening.Emergency medical treatment is mandatory. In doubt? Call poison control or 911, but don't delay.
