Why should we concern about hypoglycemia?

Coma, death.: Hypoglycemia is a potentially life-threatening condition that can lead to cardiac arrest (heart stopping or going into an abnormal rhythm), coma, and death. In fact, hypoglycemia is more dangerous than hyperglycemia because of how rapid things may happen. The signs/symptoms include confusion, dizziness, pallor, chest pain, and fatigue.

Mental confusion: There are 2 different types of hypoglycemia. The most common is in a normal person who is fasting and eats too much sugar, or carbs. The person will be sweaty, agitated, and a bit confused, with a rapid heart beat. This is uncomfortable, but not too dangerous. The real danger is in diabetics, who have taken too much Insulin and not eaten. This can result in confusion, or brain damage.

Long term effects NG: Hypoglycemia is often the result of high Insulin levels (almost always related to excess sugar and carb intake). Initially the high Insulin causes a reactive hypoglycemia, however over time, the chronically high Insulin levels lead to "insulin resistance". When your Insulin no longer works your blood sugars will rise and you develop diabetes. This is 100% preventable with proper diet.
