Diabetes is diagnosed by two random fasting blood sugars of greater than 126 mg/dl. Fasting sugars greater than 99 are considered to be "pre-diabetic". Less than 70 generally is considered to be hypoglycemic. In diabetics, this can be dangerous. Blood sugars greater than 200 (non-fasting) are also considered abnormal. These are the current definitions but it's more important to judge symptoms.
