What medicine & why?: Why did you take the medicine? Which one? Was it prescribed for you or not? Did you take too many? If you took medicine to hurt yourself please call an ambulance. If not, more details! Doctors don't prescribe meds that are likely to cause more trouble or be less safe than the disease being treated. Talk to the pharmacist as well. Read about the drug online, too.

Generally safe.: Which medications did you take, & what was the dosage? Most doctors follow the FDA guidelines on prescribing meds. The FDA is charged w/ making sure ur meds are safe (in the US). If you took the medication as prescribed, in general, you have a 95 to 99% chance of being "safe" - that is, without major side effect that can affect your health - according to the FDA.
