Depends on you: If you smoke or chew tobacco, then maybe you should be concerned. Keeping your overall health and dental hygiene in great shape, especially your immune system, all adds up to the chance being smaller.

Yes: There are numerous carcinogens that can cause oral cancer. Alcohol and tobacco being the most common. Smokeless tobacco use at a young age can be much worse. Changes occur at a faster pace in young adults. Have your dentist give you an oral cancer screening.

Unlikely: The average age of most people diagnosed with these cancers is 62. People who drink alcohol and use tobacco have the highest risk of getting oral cancer. If you think you may be at risk, you should discuss it with your doctor.
